How To Submit Blogger Sitemap and Ping to Bing And Yahoo Search Engines ?



Hello Everyone, In previous post we discussed about How to Create a Awesome auto updatable Sitemap Table of Contents to your Blogger Blog. Now Today I am going to tell you how to submit or ping your sitemap to Bing and Yahoo. About few years before, Yahoo! Site explorer and Bing webmaster tool merged. Now Bing webmaster host both of service. So now you only need to submit your blogger website sitemap to Bing Webmaster. In this tutorial I will explain how you can submit your Blogger sitemap to Bing and Yahoo easily.

6 Simple Steps To Submit Blogger Sitemap to Yahoo and Bing



1. Log into Bing Webmaster Tools using a Hotmail account( if you don�t have account on Hotmail then first you need to make a account on Hotmail ).



2. Now you are at Bing Webmaster. On the top a option is available Add Site; insert your blogger website URL inside the blank space and after it click on �Add Site�.



3. A new page is opens. �Add a Site�. There are two options first �url� is auto filled and second a Sitemap( if you already have created a Sitemap then put it here). Now click on �ADD� to submit your blogger Sitemap.



4. In next screen there are three methods are available for verifying your Blogger Blog Sitemap. For Blogger option 2 is useful because there no method for upload XML sitemap and for Adding CNAME record to DNS. So choose second option .


5. In option there is a meta tag generate for your blogger blog like <meta name="msvalidate.01" content="XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" /> , copy it (which is generated for your blog)and add it in your blogger coding (template). I described in a previous post how to add meta tag in blogger blog then read this post.

In short-

a. Log in to blogger.com now go to Template. Now go to Template > Edit HTML
b. Click on Edit HTML
c. Insert the generated tag Bing just below the <head>.

6. Now you need to verify. So go back to your Bing webmaster page and hit the 'Verify' Button.
Commonly it takes 3 to 4 days to start indexing your blogger website.

You have done. Your blog�s sitemap is submitted.

Ping To Yahoo and Bing - 


Usually you all heard the word �ping�. What does it mean? �ping� is a process that informs search engines about your blogger  URL links and index your blog on the search engines. As above I mentioned that you need only use Bing Webmaster, it handle both Bing and Yahoo Search Engines. After submitting Sitemap you need to ping once to index your blog  quickly. There is no compulsion because once you submit your sitemap it Search engines automatically ping your blog but it takes some time. And time is valuable. So use the below steps to ping your blog  quickly.

Step 1: Copy the Below Code and Paste it in your Browser URL bar.



PING#1 For Links between 1 to 500

http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bloggerexplorer.com%2Fatom.xml%3Fredirect%3Dfalse%26start-index%3D1%26max-results%3D500


PING#2 For More than 500 Links

Its very Simple change 1 or 500 according to your Blog or Website in above code.


Customise: change www.bloggerexplorer.com by your website/ blog�s URL. After it press enter. After 2- 3 sec when your request for ping is completed the request has been processed, you would see a message; �Thanks for submitting your sitemap�. Like below image.



This message inform that your request for ping is successfully accepted.
