Step 1: Log into your Gmail account and adding a new contact

           At First log into your Gmail account. And go to Send SMS box above Chat up menu from the bottom, enter the phone number on which you want to send a SMS Free. If the Chat popup menu already isn't there. Click on the little arrow, and add a new contact.



Note that if you want to chat a friend and he is already in your contact list, then you can skip the first step.

Step 2: Add a mobile number in your contacts


you can easily add a mobile no to your contact simply click on the Send SMS button as shown below.



Note : If you have not sent a SMS before,then there will be a Chat button at the exact same position. Click on this button and after clicking on it you will see a small pop-up at the bottom right of your screen, as shown below.



If you haven�t sent a SMS before on this contact than a small popup window appear. Click on the Continue this chat over SMS button.
Now choose your friend�s country and after it your friend�s mobile number. As shown at below.




Step 3 : You have done, Start chatting


Once you have entered the mobile number, a small pop-up will again appears.
Type your SMS in the text area , press Enter.  Done.




What is SMS credit system?

           Initially, Google gives you fifty credits, when you send SMS each SMS consumed 1 credit. Which means you can send out 50 messages. But when you received SMS, say when someone replies to your Gmail text for every message 5 credit added in your account by Google. For every message received, you get 5 credits. So tell your friends to stop being miserly, and start replying to texts :). You cannot, however, exceed the 50 credit limit, no matter how many replies you get.

What if you have used all the credits?

          You will receive one credit after 24 hours. You have also try to increase your credits say your friends to reply on the same no which they have received your SMS.
What are the charges for this service?
It�s totally free. Yes, Google does not charge anything for this service. However, since this is a new SMS service to almost all countries. Usually, you won't be charged for sending SMS through Gmail. The receiver might be charged a small amount if he chooses to reply to that message. Otherwise, standard messaging rates apply.
